UKATA Asbestos Awareness

See Course Dates

This Asbestos Awareness training course is designed for candidates whose work may see them exposed to asbestos.

Agenda

The course will cover:

  • Dangers of asbestos, types of asbestos and health effects caused as a result of exposure.
  • Employee duties, asbestos regulations, and emergency procedures.
  • Asbestos properties, materials, and PPE.

This course is suited to any candidates whose work may expose them to asbestos. This is particularly important for demolition workers, those in the refurbishment and maintenance trades, and those whose work may disturb the fabric of the building, as asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) may be disturbed in the process.

It is important to note that asbestos awareness training does not qualify individuals to work with any type of asbestos and that further training must be undertaken to fully comply with the legal requirements laid down in Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR).

Successful candidates will receive a UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate, which is valid for 12 months.

Companies who are CITB registered and meet their grant scheme eligibility requirements may be able to claim for a short course duration grant. Please contact us for further information.
