The Challenge

Both Balfour Beatty Engineering Services and Balfour Beatty Construction are working together on the site and A-Plant was contacted to review what we could offer in terms of an on-site store or consignment stock. Due to the high volume of contractors on-site requiring equipment (approximately 200 people per day), it was felt that an on-site hire facility would provide a convenient and efficient option of providing instant access to equipment including tools and low level access products. As well as Balfour Beatty employees, there are a number of other sub-contractors working on-site and a hire facility would minimise downtime and losses whilst providing Balfour Beatty with the peace of mind that the equipment being used is high quality and in compliance with Balfour Beatty specifications. Challenges included there being limited space on-site for the hire facility due to the storage of other equipment and it was essential that the hire shop was fire rated.
